Super stoked and honored that The Blanton Museum of Art in Austin came calling and asked to have my work available in the gift shop. I had a great visit with buyer Justin O’Connor at the studio the other day and just couldn’t be more thrilled. Onward and upward!

You know I used to think twitter was just plain silly. But I have recently seen the light. Its a super efficient way to hear funny thoughts by, the whereabouts of, and the latest news for EXACTLY the people I’m interested in, weather they be celebrity types or a good friend. Unlike facebook which becomes a little too much at times, this feels way more targeted and is a really a super cool tool of social networking. Sorry it took me so long to get it. Solarium Desk with Credenza

My first custom install of 2013. I have to admit this is almost a little too modern and minimalist even for me but pulling off the glass as well as we did was quite satisfying and looks really dramatic. The shadow lines, light rays and rainbows coming off of it in the late afternoon sun were pretty incredible. For all the images check the gallery page.

Functional Centerpiece for Daruma

The owners of Kome who hired me in 2011 to build their bar asked me to design functional centerpieces for a new noodle house they are putting in downtown. The center pieces serve as napkin, chopstick, tooth pick and spoon holders. The floral motif on the side is taken from the wall paper that will be used. We had it laser etched into the sides and filled with multiple resin colors we use on my products.. This small industrial design is one of my favorite of 2012. I can’t wait too see them in use.

New Ride

I was truly blessed recently when a really great client of mine gave me a sweet deal on a beautiful bicycle he had built for himself. Thanks Jay. I am loving riding to the shop so much I’m sort of wondering why its taken me so long to embrace this healthy and connected way of moving across the city. Here is the steed along with some select shots from my ride home the other evening. My favorite part is passing thru Austin’s oldest cemetery Oakwood off MLK. My great great grand fathers buried there and I often wonder what he would think of me zipping by in the year 2012.

The basket is the best. I’m done for bikes.

New Drying Room

We built a drying room at the studio to create a dust free, insulated, ventilated and dehumidified area for all our hand rubbed oil finishes. This is huge for us and we love it. I have been wanting this for a while and our big flash sale on Fab.com was the perfect excuse to get it done.
